OUR ROLE
Quod advised Canary Wharf Group and Qatari Diar on planning, affordable housing and socio-economic matters relating to the redevelopment of the Shell Centre site in Waterloo. Located adjacent to the London Eye and opposite the Houses of Parliament, the project represented one of the capital’s most complex and high-profile regeneration opportunities. Quod supported the planning strategy for the 2 million sq ft mixed-use scheme, which retained the Shell Tower while introducing eight new buildings ranging from 11 to 37 storeys. Following resolution to approve by Lambeth Council in 2013, Quod acted as expert witness at the subsequent public inquiry, helping secure Secretary of State consent in 2014.
