Quod is supporting the delivery of the UK’s first prototype fusion power plant, providing strategic planning and consenting advice for one of the country’s most ambitious future energy programmes.
OUR ROLE
Quod is advising UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) Group on the planning and consenting strategy for STEP Fusion, the UK-led programme to develop a prototype fusion power plant at West Burton. Working closely with a focused client team, Quod is leading strategic advice on scheme assembly, masterplanning, environmental impact and mitigation, socio-economic strategy and construction workforce planning. The team is also advising on stakeholder engagement and consultation strategy as the project progresses through early development stages. The programme has the potential to establish a major new hub for advanced energy research, innovation and employment, supporting the long-term commercialisation of fusion energy in the UK.
