Overview
Quod acted as strategic planning advisor to Thames Water for the TTT DCO application, which was at the time the largest DCO application made to, and examined by, the Planning Inspectorate.
Details
Quod led the planning on one of the most complex linear DCO’s submitted to date. Uniquely for a DCO, the project included a multitude of sites across London boroughs, running across multiple local authorities. Quod were tasked with having a detailed understanding of the different issues being raised across the authorities.
Quod's Role
Quod played a key role in the pre-application stage, leading on several DCO deliverables and providing strategic review of core decision-making and project documentation. This included managing 22 Planning Statements for individual project sites, preparing the overarching strategic Planning Statement, and undertaking a detailed review of the full DCO application. This work helped establish a robust set of requirements and planning conditions to secure Environmental Statement mitigations. Quod worked closely with TfL and technical consultants to strengthen the application and better evidence scheme benefits, including its significant economic contribution.
