Wylfa SMR Project
Overview
Quod Planning and Socio-Economics Teams (working alongside Jacobs) are supporting Great British Energy – Nuclear (GBE-N) in the development of a proposed small modular reactor nuclear deployment at Wylfa in North Wales and early site activities at Oldbury in South Gloucestershire. This has followed from Quod’s long standing support to GBE-N and DESNZ since 2022 on nuclear siting and consenting approaches.
Details
Quod is advising GBE-N on its strategic case for development, consenting strategy, consultation approach, people and economy strategies, design development and acting as Planning Lead on early TCPA applications.
Quod's Role
Quod is working alongside Jacobs to deliver planning and consenting support and lead key land-use planning activities to help advance required project approvals, including DCO and TCPA applications. Quod is also supporting stakeholder engagement and socio-economic strategies and assessment to inform planning and community considerations. Quod is working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary organisations to shape the project, including engagement with the host planning authority, key stakeholders and the local community.
